synopsis / Using her smartphone camera, a young woman invites us into her world and her life in Afghanistan under the Taliban regime. Her name is Aziza and she refuses to surrender under the shadow of the gender-apartheid ideology that grows darker by the day as it spreads across the country.

Through Aziza’s story, the documentary explores the intersection of gender, migration, and political repression, challenging misconceptions about asylum and forced migration. Aziza’s experience reveals that leaving an oppressive context does not guarantee safety. The refugee journey is fraught with uncertainty, hardship, and further displacement, complicating the search for security and dignity.
